The short version
Goldlet does not require an account, does not collect personal information, and does not send your data to us — we operate no servers. Everything you enter stays on your device, and if you turn on Aioratec Sync, your gold and receipts are stored in your own iCloud so your other devices can read them.
What we collect
Nothing about you. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, device identifiers, advertising IDs, location, contacts, photos, or any other personally identifiable information.
What is stored on your device
Goldlet stores your data in the app's local storage on your device. This includes:
- Your preferences: language (one of 13), country / market, and gold price source.
- The most recently fetched spot price and its update timestamps.
- Receipts you save, including any shop names you attach.
- Your My Gold list — each piece's details and its photo, if you add one. Photos are stored only on the device where they were added.
Uninstalling the app clears all of it (except data you have synced to your own iCloud — see below). Reset to Defaults in Settings clears the preferences.
Aioratec Sync (iCloud)
Aioratec Sync is optional and off by default. When you turn it on, your gold list and receipt history are stored in the private iCloud key-value storage of your own Apple ID, so devices signed into the same iCloud account stay in sync. This data goes to Apple's iCloud under your account — never to us; we cannot read it. Photos are not synced. Turning the toggle off stops syncing; managing iCloud data is subject to Apple's privacy policy.
Analytics, tracking, and ads
Goldlet contains no analytics SDKs, no third-party trackers, and no advertising. We do not use cookies, pixels, fingerprinting, or any tracking technology, in the app or on this website.
Network use
Goldlet connects to the internet for one core purpose: fetching the live gold price. It requests the current USD spot price from the source you select in Settings — Swissquote, Gold-API.com, or Yahoo Finance. These requests carry no personal data or identifiers from the app, though like any internet request they expose standard connection metadata (such as your IP address) to the provider, subject to that provider's own policies. Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; we never see your payment details. Everything else — the calculator, My Gold, receipts — works offline.
Children
Goldlet is suitable for general audiences. Because we do not collect personal information from any user, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children either.
Your rights
Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. You remain in full control of the local data on your device and can erase it at any time by resetting defaults or uninstalling the app.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be highlighted in the app's release notes.
